Information Age: News, analysis & insight for IT & business leaders

The predictive enterprise

12 August 2006

The first Information Age infocast explores how complex event processing (CEP) lets companies peer into the future.

The premise of the predictive enterprise is that many events, especially in business, can be foreseen because they are the direct result of one or many previous events. If we can foresee that a certain event will happen, such as a decision by a customer not to buy a product, then we can do something about that, such as offering them a discount before they make that fateful decision.

During this 20-minute programme, Andrew Lawrence interviews leading experts in the field of real-time and complex event processing, which include Vivek Ranadive, founder and CEO of business integration and process management software company, TIBCO, and author of two acclaimed books on the real-time enterprise; The Power of Now and The Power to Predict.
