Infoconomy, the award-winning publisher of Information Age, has announced it is to launch a new bimonthly magazine, M-iD.
London, 11 June 2003 — Infoconomy, the award-winning publisher of Information Age, has announced it is to launch a new bimonthly magazine, M-iD.
From September 2003, M-iD - Managing Information and Documents - will provide constructive advice and examples of best practice to individuals responsible for the management of documents, content and records in both the public and private sectors.
Infoconomy will launch M-iD in partnership with AIIM Europe, the industry association that connects the communities of users and suppliers of enterprise content management technologies. The magazine will have an initial circulation of 12,000 and be distributed to AIIM Europe's UK membership. Jessica Twentyman, formerly deputy editor of Information Age, will be the editor of M-iD.
"There has never been a better time to launch a magazine to provide practical, independent and well-researched advice to information management professionals," said Andy Lawrence, editorial director and co-founder of Infoconomy. "This is an audience that is currently under-served by the IT publishing industry but which faces a rapidly expanding range of complex issues and challenges: the growth of electronic information; the need to collaborate more closely with suppliers and customers; and a minefield of legislation governing the retention, disposal and delivery of business information and documents."
Each issue of M-iD will focus on the four key processes of information management: capture; storage and preservation; management and business processing; and delivery. This content will reflect the fact that although M-iD's readers work with technology, they may not come from a technology background -- they may, for example, be line-of-business managers in areas such as corporate compliance or customer service, or professional archivists.
"The ability to capture, manage, store, preserve and deliver enterprise content to support business processes is an increasingly mammoth task. It necessitates detailed analysis and in-depth understanding of both people and processes. We are delighted to partner with Infoconomy and anticipate that M-iD will be a tremendous success," said Roger Crumpton, managing director of AIIM Europe.
