Video site cofounders' new company, AVOS Systems, is building a social media managment platform for consumers and businesses
The co-founders of YouTube have acquired a company whose technology allows businesses to monitor and analyze social media sites.
Chad Hurley and Steve Chen co-founded the world's most popular video sharing site and sold it to Google for $1.65bn in 2006. Having stepped down to advisory roles at Google since then, the pair set up a new company this year called AVOS Systems.

The idea behind the company is to provide a system for both consumers and businesses to manage and monitor the content they share through social media. Last month, AVOS Systems acquired the social bookmarking website Delicious from web giant Yahoo!
“Our vision is to create the world’s best platform for uses to save, share, and discover new content,” Hurley said today in a statement. “With the acquisition of Tap11, we will be able to provide consumer and enterprise users with powerful tools to publish and analyse their links’ impact in real-time.”
Tap11 describes itself as "the leading real-time business intelligence platform". It claims its product allows marketing professionals to monitor the performance of their campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.
