New CEO for Logica UK

3 October 2011

As Craig Boundy steps down to join credit rating agency Experian, IT services provider appoints IBM veteran as new UK chief

Logica, the London-headquartered IT services provider, has appointed a new chief executive for its UK division.

Gary Bullard cut his teeth at IBM, where his 25-year stint culminated in his appointment as general manager of the global solutions division. He left IBM in 2004 to become president of BT Global Services, and in 2008 he spent 11 months at Logica as a sales and marketing executive.

Since then he has held a number of roles including CEO and founder of Catquin, a recruitment consultancy for female executives.

Bullard will replace the current CEO of Logica UK, Craig Boundy, who is leaving to become UK managing director of credit rating agency and information services provider Experian.

As with most of the European IT services providers, Logica's UK division held up relatively well during the downturn. But it has been a drag on the business in the last year or so, thanks in part of government IT spending cuts – Logica UK sales fell 2% in its most recent financial half year, while overall sales grew by 5% to £2 billion.

The company has won some significant UK contracts in recent months, however, including a deal to lead a consortium of suppliers in upgrading the Ministry of Defence's Electronic Warfare Database.
