Cloud computing services struck by errors and increased latency at web giant's North Virginia facilities
US customers of cloud computing provider Amazon Web Services have suffered increased network latency and connectivity errors this morning, according to the company's own status dashboard.
The company says that performance issues affected instances of its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service and its Relational Database Service that are hosted in its North Virginia data centre.
At the time of writing, AWS said it was "continuing to work towards full resolution".
Websites including social link sharing site reddit.com, location-based social network Foursquare and Q&A site Quora are reported to have been affected.
Quora is down altogether, and the site currently displays a holding message saying "We'd point fingers, but we wouldn't be where we are today without EC2."

Hey, elog.com is down too.
