The best in class for the third annual Data Leaders Awards have been announced! Revealed during a glitzy awards ceremony at Hilton London Bankside, last night, the winners were celebrated for their contributions to the industry.

Attended by over 400 IT professionals the event has become a prominent part of the UK data community’s calendar, with the aim of celebrating leadership and excellence in the sector.

Every day, we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data, and IDC predicts that the digital universe will reach 180 zettabytes by 2025. The sale of big data and business analytics software, hardware and services will reach $187 billion by 2019, according to the analyst.

Sponsored by MapR, The Data Leaders Awards are about recognising the individuals and companies who are leading innovation in this area. It honours people and firms at the forefront of data – those transforming organisations and enhancing decision-making through its use, managing and controlling its proliferating growth and driving business value.

Information Age’s editorial team received over 300 nominations for this year’s programme before our judging panel narrowed them down to a shortlist.

Each entry on the shortlist is considered a winner by the judging panel. However, the ‘best in class’ showed exceptional deployments of technologies, within enterprises, to improve services, drive efficiencies, cost savings and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Thank you to the Data Leaders Awards judging panel for their hard work in deciding who would walk away as our ‘best in class’.
