Microsoft CIO sacked

Another one bites the dust....  

Stuart Scott, CIO and corporate vice president of software titan Microsoft, has been sacked following "an investigation for violation of company policies."

The company has provided no further details on the circumstances of Scott’s departure, giving rise to speculation that personal matters led to the dismissal. 

Scott held the post for just one year, having joined the company in 2005. He had previously worked his way up through the ranks at General Electric, eventually becoming a divisional CIO. Microsoft has now lost three CIOs in four years.
