SAP sued for ‘complete failure’ of $100m project

US company finds pre-packaged software undeveloped, untested, and defective”.

A US company is suing German applications-maker SAP after it invested $100 million in software that it says has turned out to be a “complete failure”.

Waste Management, the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in North America, blames SAP’s software for failure of a cost-cutting drive and is seeking to reclaim all its expenses plus damages from the company.

The US version of SAP’s software for the waste disposal was faulty, the company claims. "Unknown to Waste Management, this version of the waste and recycling software was undeveloped, untested and defective", a lawsuit filed this week in a Texas asserts.

SAP has declined to comment.
