Civilian picks up classified intelligence on auction site for £17
A 28-year-old man who bought a digital camera for £17 on eBay was surprised to find photographs and documents pertaining to an MI6 investigation of Al-Qaeda stored in its memory.
According to the Sun newspaper, the man, from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, took the camera to his local police station where officers initially assumed he was joking.
Among the documents found on the camera, which had previously belonged to an MI6 agent, was a list of suspected terrorists, along with their fingerprints and academic record, photographs of weapons and even details of an MI6 computer system.
