The Future of the Data Centre 2010

Data centres are under increasing pressure to deliver greater processing power, more storage and greater reliability.  However UK enterprises are now facing new challenges with the introduction of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation.  From April 2010, Enterprises and Data Centres alike will be required to report on energy consumption, failure to do so could result in criminal penalties, however Information Age has recently reported that only a mere 40%* of IT leaders actually monitor their data centre’s energy use.
