Three quarters of businesses say it is easier to find information on the worldwide web than on their own IT systems, a report by information management advisory AIIM has found. The report, which investigates how businesses make use of unstructured data, also found that search engine-like systems are not always the best tools for employees conducted research. Conducted in partnership with IBM, the study concludes that there is an appetite for so-called “content analytics” tools that can help staff analyse unstructured data more effectively.
