Tech focus: IPVPN

Nobody can underestimate the impact that new technology trends have had on the speed and delivery of business in recent years.

Technologies like cloud computing, big data, social enterprise and mobility have opened up hoards of new ways for organisations to reach and communicate with customers.

Add to that the proliferation of broadband speeds, and the result is a platform that has thrown out the rulebook for traditional customer service, allowing customers to interact with brands at a pace never seen before.

Whilst the benefits to the enterprise are undeniable, these trends have also created new challenges for IT leaders, who now more than ever are faced with the hefty task of creating networks that are resilient and versatile enough to support this new concept of business.

TalkTalk Business is one company that has recognised this, and created an IPVPN (Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network) solution that allows organisations to securely connect geographically diverse business sites.

The private network supports the high volume of data transfer that is being generated by customers across voice, video and data, and can be connected via broadband, Fibre Ethernet or EFM.

As more and more enterprises adopt bring-your-own-device (BYOD) initiatives allowing, or even encouraging, employees to work remotely, there is an increasing need for networks that can work across multiple sites.

That is essentially what IPVPN does, which also makes it suitable as a facilitator of business growth.
