Modernise and Manage your Customised Applications
01 July 2007, 12:00am
IT leaders everywhere are under pressure to innovate, to help streamline business processes, and to respond quickly to changing business needs. But their existing enterprise applications are soaking up human and monetary resources. Simply maintaining and managing the intimidating array of old and new technology can eat up as much as 70% of their IT spend.
The problem is particularly serious in those organisations that have a sprawling portfolio of custom built applications, ranging from mainframe Cobol systems, distributed client-server systems, and newer Java or .Net web facing services. Many of these businesses have a clear strategy to move towards a service oriented architecture, but first, they need to better understand, manage and modernise what they have.
Information Age 's webinar, Modernise and Manage your Customised Applications, addressed these issues. Speakers included:
- David Stephenson, UK General Manager, Micro Focus
- Peter Schofield, EMEA Leader for Applications Modernisation, EDS
- Simon Broome, UK Development and Testing Manager, T-Systems
