Real-time Infrastructure - the business benefits
01 September 2006, 12:00am
On 19th September 2006, “Real-time infrastructure – the business benefits” kick-started Information Age’s autumn 2006 Webinar series.
All organisations aspire to business agility – the ability to quickly react to, or anticipate, events in real or near real-time. But in a complex organisation, this is only possible if the underlying IT systems are flexible and can be dynamically controlled – if there is a real-time infrastructure (RTI) in place. The journey towards the Real Time Infrastructure is not easy, and requires a staged, step by step process and a deep strategic commitment. But it is possible, and it can deliver huge benefits. It is a journey worth taking.
We were joined by three industry authorities for a lively and informative discussion on the practical steps that lead to the real-time infrastructure (RTI). Among other topics, our panelists discussed RTI in practice; the methodologies and processes involved, and they answered readers' questions and experiences .
Our panel of industry experts included:
- Andrew Butler, VP & Distinguished Analyst, Gartner
- Simon Shiach, Global VP, Marketing RTI, Unisys
- Arun Shenoy, Director of Digital Enterprise, Intel UK & Ireland
