“The opportunity to join Detected as CTO allows me to share my experience with a team that is solving a very real problem in an enormous market that is growing fast,” said Youell.

“I have worked with Liam [Chennells, Detected CEO] in the past and have huge faith in the team he has built based on their experience and what they have achieved already.”

Liam Chennells, CEO of Detected, commented: “Peter’s arrival is our strongest statement of intent to date. His exceptional technical leadership and commercial understanding makes him the visionary needed to build and scale our technology.

“With Peter at our technical helm, we can scale rapidly as we help solve the $200 billion problem of fraud in this $5.6 trillion industry.

How combining AI and humans can help to tackle cyber fraud

“B2B digital commerce consists of countless systems and this complexity is a breeding ground for fraud. B2B buyers and sellers rarely check the credentials of who they are selling to and buying from and this is particularly true once a supplier has been officially vetted. Businesses assume a seller’s circumstances can never change, malicious or otherwise, but this happens with startling regularity and often with no warning.

“Detected mitigates these risks in many ways – by helping to build trust between trading partners, solving the impatience conundrum associated with due diligence, and simplifying cross border trade. Our platform is seamlessly integrated into any existing marketplace, business process or procurement system.”

Detected helps to protect buyers and sellers from fraud, using thousands of data points to determine the identity, location, solvency and capability of a party in seconds.
