Trulioo appoints Hal Lonas as chief technology officer

Lonas, who brings over 25 years’ technology leadership experience to Trulioo, will look to help the company accelerate its next phase of growth and innovation.

As chief technology officer at Trulioo, Lonas will oversee improvement of core products, while maintaining long-term innovation and operations.

Lonas will lead all aspects of Trulioo’s technology development, ensuring the adaptability of technologies around data, privacy, security and the complex and expanding ecosystem of identity verification.

Prior to joining Trulioo, Lonas served as senior vice-president and CTO, SMB and consumer, at OpenText, overseeing the organisation’s technology and product strategy.

Previously, he was the CTO of Webroot, as well as Carbonite (both of which are OpenText companies), where he led the creation of the first cloud native security platform.

In addition, the new appointment co-founded and acted as vice-president of engineering of BrightCloud, and has held key engineering management positions with Websense (now Forcepoint) and ADP (now CDK Global).
