Dot-com bankruptcies

At least 537 Internet companies shut down or declared bankruptcy in 2001, more than twice as many as in 2000, according to tech-sector tracker Webmergers.com. The growth of company failures showed signs of slowing as 2001 wore on, with ‘only' 21 in December 2001, the lowest number since August 2000. That may be an encouraging sign.
