IT spending to fall in 2003… or should that be rise?

As ever, there are conflicting views on how much IT directors will be spending on technology in 2003.

The ‘bulls’ include Gartner, IDC and Forrester, while among the ‘bears’ are the Meta Group and investment bank Goldman Sachs. The figures say more about the different methodologies and samples than they do about IT spending. They also suggest a deteriorating picture. Goldman revised its figures down just after Christmas.
