New CEO Rosso joins ISC2 from the AICPA and CIMA where she is executive vice-president of engagement and learning innovation. Rosso will be responsible for drawing up budget and strategic plans for 2021, as well as ensuring continued success within the cyber security sector.

The new appointment will bring over two decades’ experience in professional association leadership to the role, having previously served as chief operating officer at the California Society of CPAs for 13 years, before joining the AICPA in 2013 to develop global market and product strategies, as well as identifying and creating new products, services and delivery platforms.

“Cyber security professionals play a critical role in our global society, and I look forward to joining the dedicated team at ISC2 to strengthen our value to members and associates through our certification programs, enriching learning experiences and much more,” said Rosso.

“It is a great privilege to join ISC2 and lead this prestigious association. There is so much opportunity to continue growing the profession, striving to realise the association’s vision of a safe and secure cyber world, and ensuring that cyber security is a rewarding and welcoming career to a diversity of people globally.”

Outgoing CEO, David Shearer, will stay with ISC2 through until the end of the year in an advisory role, aiding the transition and ensuring that the company’s goals for 2020 are accomplished.

Dr. Kevin Charest, ISC² Board of Directors chairperson, commented: “The ISC2 Board of Directors set out to find a talented, driven leader to achieve the Board’s vision of a growing, member-focused association that encourages an increasingly diverse workforce.

“Clar has the experience and passion to help ISC2 build on the rich foundation of success her predecessors established, and we are confident our members will benefit from her leadership.

“As we welcome Clar to the organisation, we are also extremely appreciative of all of David’s work, passion and commitment to ISC2 over the past 8 years.”
