Accenture announces acquisition of Gekko to bolster cloud innovation

The acquisition of Gekko will see Accenture expand its AWS portfolio in France, which will support enterprise migrations and cloud development.

Subject to preliminary consultations with the relevant work councils and customary closing conditions, the deal will see Gekko’s AWS expertise combine with Accenture’s knowledge of global large-scale cloud initiatives.

Additionally, this is set to bolster Accenture’s end-to-end Intelligent Cloud & Infrastructure services, and will operate in line with the strategic initiatives set out by the Accenture AWS Business Group (AABG) within Accenture Technology in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

“Accenture’s advantage is our ability to keep pace with evolving customer expectations,” said Olivier Girard, managing director of Accenture’s Geographic Unit for France and Benelux. “Our clients call on Accenture to help them innovate and transform their business.

“Gekko would bring key cloud, AI and DevOps skills and would help us serve a greater and more diverse range of clients in France and the broader European market.”
