Shutterstock, Inc. has today announced the appointment of Peter Silvio as its new chief technology officer.
In this role, Silvio, who has been serving in a head of engineering capacity since March, will lead the technology organisation, partnering closely with product and marketing to drive the development and implementation of products and services. Additionally, Peter will be responsible for the company’s technical vision and enabling it to execute on its business objectives.
“Peter is an experienced technology leader, always striving to innovate and position the company for continued success. He has played an integral role in leading technical strategy, architecture and development, and over the last six months, he has done a tremendous job leading the team. It gives me great pleasure to promote him to chief technology officer,” said Jon Oringer, founder and CEO of Shutterstock.
Peter joined Shutterstock in 2017 as VP of engineering and architecture with over 20 years of experience. Peter was then promoted to SVP, head of engineering & architecture in May 2019.

Peter’s experience across 20 years includes architecting and building distributed service platforms, designing data architecture for internal applications, and defining API products to power future company solutions. Prior to joining Shutterstock, Peter was head of application development and architecture at Thomson Reuters.
