Sussex NHS awards £37m IT contract to 2e2

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a £36.8 million contract for 2e2 to manage the Trusts entire IT estate over the next seven years.

The contract will see 2e2 "replace and improve" the services which the Sussex Health Informatics Service currently provides to the Trust, as well as the telecommunications and data services which the Trust manages itself.

Under the contract, 2e2 will provide PCs, mobile devices, laptops and printers to the Trust’s 5,000 end users and 5,600 staff. The contract also covers support for front and back office applications and associated licenses.

2e2 will also build, maintain and support a unified communications solution for the Trust, allowing mobile and fixed devices to operate within and between Trust sites over a local area network and a wide area network. The infrastructure will cover the Trust’s primary sites as well as smaller community sites, and newly commissioned sites.

The company will be responsible for hosting all infrastructure and connectivity between supplier data centres and rust sites.

2e2’s tender was the cheapest of the three received by the Trust. The highest offer was £48.9 million. The original contract notice estimated the contract value between £30 and £50 million.
