Avanade acquires Altius to expand into retail, transport and public sectors

A partner of Microsoft, Avanade has shown intent to expand its customer base and help clients in industries that Altius focuses on to maximise AI and data return on investment (ROI).

As well as expertise in retail, travel, transport and public sectors, Avanade will also receive scalability and further insight into data platforms, managed services and data visualisation.

The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.

Andy Gillett, general manager for Avanade UK and Ireland, said: “Harnessing the power of data for business growth is a well-documented opportunity, so we’re delighted that Altius will join us as together we continue to push the boundaries of what clients can achieve with data and AI.”

Founded in 2007, Altius has a team of over 300 experts in cloud and data, and have offices in the Netherlands and India as well as the UK.

Avanade was recently selected by energy company RWE AG to establish a new cloud infrastructure alongside Accenture.
