Marc O’Brien appointed as Chief Technical Officer of Medica Group Plc

Medica Group Plc, the UK provider of teleradiology services, has announced that Marc O’Brien will become Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of the organisation.

This newly created role in the company shows that organisation’s are taking the importance of technology more seriously. Indeed, the CTO’s role is emerging on a larger scale across businesses in different industries.

The responsibility

As CTO, O’Brien will be responsible for developing and directing the technology strategy for the business. His appointment will help to ensure that Medica remains informed about developments at the forefront of technology and focuses on the most effective and innovative ways to deliver its services.

O’Brien brings a wealth of expertise and familiarity with the sector to Medica. Most recently, he served as Chief Information Officer at InHealth, the diagnostics and healthcare solutions provider, where he developed and delivered their digital and technical strategy. Prior to his time at InHealth, he worked for Viapath and was a member of the team that founded Spire Healthcare, which is now a constituent of the FTSE 250 index.

O’Brien joins a number of recent hires at Medica across Operations and Technology, including Ian Edwards (MBCS) who joined the Company as Information Security Manager in September 2018.
