Panaseer appoints Jonathan Gill as CEO

With Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM) platform Panaseer looking to focus on international growth, new CEO Gill brings over 25 years’ experience in scaling security businesses to the leadership team.

Most recently, Gill served as general manager and senior vice-president for EMEA at Talend, with other previous roles including vice-president EMEA at RSA Security, and executive vice-president of global sales at Veracode.

Former CEO and founder Nik Whitfield, meanwhile, will remain at Panaseer as its chairman, as well as maintaining an active role in the company as Chief Seer.

Since Whitfield founded Panaseer in 2014, its scope has grown to over four million entities for world-renowned enterprise clients across Europe and North America, and the CCM provider was recognised in the Gartner 2020 Risk Management Hype Cycle.

Also in 2020, Panaseer saw growth surge by 350%, as clients looked to maintain network visibility while operating remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Throughout my career the most fulfilling roles have been those where I have had scope to significantly scale a business to meet a global challenge. Panaseer offers the most exciting opportunity to date,” said new Panaseer CEO, Gill.

“Its platform is a game-changer for the security industry. It solves a major problem; the security landscape is increasingly complex; the rate of change is only accelerating.

“Panaseer ‘turns the lights on’ by integrating every tool you have to give a fully-informed view of assets and their safeguards, with context about users, business priority, hardware and software. This hugely improves the understanding of risk, decision-making, and resource prioritisation.

“I am looking forward to working with the team to fulfill our vision of ensuring all enterprises have the proper safeguards to manage risk.”

Nik Whitfield, chairman at Panaseer, commented: “Over the last six years, we have built the industry’s most advanced security measurement platform. It’s been a fantastic journey, and we’re thrilled to have firmly placed CCM on the cyber map, whilst establishing and growing our operations in the UK and US.

“Our mission for our clients has always been to make sure their cyber security safeguards are switched on and working effectively at all times. Having established Panaseer as the first-choice platform to do this, the focus needed to shift to scaling the business.

“My decision to bring in a new CEO supports this growth objective, and the Board and I are convinced that Jonathan is absolutely the right person to deliver on our ambitions and values. This will free up my time to do what I love – creating, exploring and articulating the vision for this space.

“I’m looking forward to helping our growing client base to stay secure for the long term.”
