Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is launching the TCS Quantum Computing Lab on Amazon Web Services (AWS), to empower enterprise quantum projects
The new innovation hub, which is set to be announced during AWS‘s re:Invent conference, will provide enterprises with a testbed to explore, develop, and test business solutions and accelerate the adoption of quantum computing.
Utilising the quantum service Amazon Braket, TCS plans to leverage the lab to design new solutions, build performance benchmarks around the emerging technology, and facilitate hackathons for security research and development.
While collaborating with startups and scaleups across the tech industry, as well as academia, TCS has been investing in quantum computing research for over four years, filing two patents.
“The TCS Quantum Computing Lab on AWS enables customers to evaluate with agility, the true potential of what quantum technology can realise for their core business operations,” said Krishna Mohan, global head of AWS Business Unit at TCS.
“It provides a collaborative ecosystem to ideate, incubate, and test new ideas on Amazon Braket. Our customers can jumpstart their quantum computing journey by taking advantage of the investments TCS has made in this powerful technology, backed by our strong partnership with AWS.”
Quantum use cases
With customers able to explore and co-create new use cases and solutions beyond the capabilities of conventional technologies, TCS will look to aid developments in areas including:
- portfolio risk evaluation;
- secure communication ecosystems;
- predicting customer behaviour;
- production planning.
The Mumbai-headquartered IT consulting and services company’s full-stack AWS Business Unit offers end-to-end services and solutions around cloud migration; application and data modernisation; managed services; and industry-specific innovation on AWS.
